Sign In Options

The Sign In Options tab is where you control how you sign in to Sequencing and how your account is protected. From this tab you can set up Two Factor Authentication for added security and enable Single Sign On to sign in with an existing account.

What can I configure in Sign In Options?

Two settings are available:

  1. Two Factor Authentication. Adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second verification step when you sign in, beyond your email and password.
  2. Single Sign On. Lets you register and sign in to your Sequencing account using your Google, Twitter, or GitHub account, so you do not need a separate password.

What is Two Factor Authentication?

Two Factor Authentication protects your account by requiring a one time code in addition to your password. Even if someone learns your password, they cannot sign in without the second factor. This matters because your account holds sensitive health information drawn from 100% of your DNA, so the extra step keeps that data secure.

To set it up, see the Two Factor Authentication guide.

What is Single Sign On?

Single Sign On lets you create your account and sign in using credentials you already have with Google, Twitter, or GitHub. Instead of managing another password, you authenticate through one of those providers. It is faster to sign in and means one less password to remember.

To set it up, see the Single Sign On guide.

Where do I find Sign In Options?

Sign In Options is located in your account settings once you are signed in to Sequencing. Open the Sign In Options tab to enable or adjust either setting at any time.
