Do I need to pay for a Genome Plan membership to use Sequencing?
No. We offer a Free plan, so you don’t need to pay anything just to use Sequencing. Core features such as data storage, report access (for purchased reports), and basic account tools are available without membership.
What happens if I downgrade a membership that was included with a Whole Genome Sequencing bundle?
You will always keep access to your DNA data and any reports included in the bundle, regardless of your membership level. Downgrading won’t revoke content that was already delivered to you.
What does a membership or Genome Plan add to my experience?

Yes. Purchased reports deliver full health, wellness, and ancestry insights whether or not you have a membership. Membership does not limit your ability to gain meaningful information.
Can I view, download, and manage my genetic data without a membership?
Yes. You retain full control over your data at all times. You can view, export, and manage all genomic files regardless of your membership status.
Is there a commitment required when I upgrade my membership?
Membership plans are structured as annual commitments, but payment schedules can be monthly or one time for 12 months. An exception exists for some Whole Genome Sequencing bundle plans, which may offer month-to-month membership options.
How is privacy and data security handled if I’m not a member?
Privacy and security are core to Sequencing’s design. Whether or not you have a membership, your data remains private and encrypted, and controlled by you. Our Privacy Forever policies and data protections apply to all users equally.
Can I upgrade later if I skip membership now?
Yes. You may upgrade at any time. When you do, you gain access to premium features, tools, and new reports. There is no penalty for starting free and upgrading later.
Does having a membership affect the quality or accuracy of my reports?
No. Report quality, scientific validity, and reliability remain the same regardless of membership status. Membership adds features, not report accuracy.
Are there any free reports I can access without a membership?
Yes. We offer a selection of free reports and educational tools accessible to all users. You can explore your genetic data at no cost and upgrade when you wish.
How does a Genome Plan help me stay proactive with my health?
With membership, your genome is regularly updated with new discoveries, specialized tools are available to you, and you gain early access to advanced features—so your insights evolve as science advances.
What should I do if renewal payment fails?
If your payment fails, your membership will be paused until you update your payment method. You can resume the same membership once the payment is resolved, or downgrade to Free if you prefer.
