Dante Labs
Dante Labs Whole Genome Sequencing
It’s easy to use your Dante Labs whole genome sequencing data with DNA analysis apps. After you obtain your Dante Labs files, navigating through the multitude of files from your Dante Labs Whole Genome Sequencing can be daunting. Each file contains a unique aspect of your genome, presenting a comprehensive but complex view of your genetic data.
One Genome is a new technology that automatically combines the highest quality DNA data from each of your DNA data files together into a single enhanced virtual genome.
Automatically import your Dante Labs data (Secure, Simple and Quick)
- Click the ‘Dante Labs’ button in our Upload Center.
- Follow the instructions and your import will begin.
- VCFs and PDFs are usually imported within an hour while BAM and FASTQ files can take up to 48 hours before they appear in your account.
Import Genome Data From Dante Labs
Download your Dante Labs data and upload the data to Sequencing.com
- Sign in to your Dante Labs account.
- Download the files for each of your profiles.
- While we recommend obtaining all of your DNA data files, due to their size this can take a while. You may want to start with your FASTQ files as these are the most important to obtain.
- If FASTQ files are not available, the next best file is the BAM file.
- If your BAM file cannot be obtained then please obtain your VCF files.
- The file ending in .snp.vcf.gz is the best VCF to use with apps in our DNA App Store.
- Download and sign into Big Yotta, our secure uploader for large files.
- Sign in using your Sequencing.com account credentials.
- Upload your Dante Labs data files using Big Yotta.
Dante Labs Download Problems
We have received reports that some of Dante Labs’ customers have encountered errors when attempting to download their raw genome files from their Dante Labs’ account. Unfortunately, Dante appears to have blocked the ability of customers to download FASTQ and BAM genome sequencing files after the first 30 days.
The good news is that most customers can still download the VCFs files from their Dante Labs account. Our system is compatible with these files and you can use the .snp-indel.vcf.gz file with all of the apps in our DNA App Store.
To learn more about Dante Lab’s download issues, please see our Dante Labs review, which we’ll continue to update on a regular basis.
How To Guide for Using Your Dante Labs Genome Sequencing Data
Improve your Dante Labs Data with One Genome Technology
One Genome is a new technology that automatically combines the highest quality DNA data from each of your DNA data files together into a single enhanced virtual genome.
Obtain a single, enhanced virtual genome
If you have DNA data from multiple test providers, such as Dante Labs and 23andMe and MyHeritage, One Genome will use the highest quality data from each file to generate your genome.
While WGS data is far more comprehensive than genotyping tests, WGS data will always have some low-quality calls. Data from other tests you’ve taken, such as a 23andMe test, may then be used in place of a low-quality WGS call. Imputation is also used to ensure your virtual genome is as complete as possible (more complete than just WGS data alone).
Ensure your genome contains the most up-to-date data on all genetic variations
One Genome Technology is especially powerful if you have your FASTQ or BAM files stored in your Sequencing.com account. One Genome processes will process your FASTQ or BAM (or both) using a highly advanced pipeline so that your virtual genome always contains the most comprehensive, up-to-date data on all genetic variations.
This includes aligning your genome to the current reference genome (GRCh38 instead of GRCh37 used by Dante Labs) as well as generating data for all genetic variations (SNP, INDEL, CNV, SV and MITO) aligned to GRCh38.
Whenever there’s an update to the pipeline, your virtual genome will be automatically re-generated. This ensures your enhanced virtual genome is always up-to-date.
Apps analyze your genome instead of individual data files
Once One Genome is applied to your account and your enhanced virtual genome is generated, you’ll be able to use DNA analysis apps simply by selecting your genome. Instead of having to decide which file is best to use with an app (and potentially using an app multiple times to obtain full analysis of all variations in your genome), when you start an app with your virtual genome, the app will automatically process your entire genome.
