Healthcare Professionals
Sequencing gives healthcare providers a HIPAA compliant platform to store patient genetic data, run clinical interpretation through apps and reports, and deliver personalized care. Providers can manage each patient individually, work with whole genome and exome data, and start for free. This guide covers how to get set up and what the platform offers.
How do I get started?
- Register a free account. Healthcare providers can start with a free account. See the account registration instructions.
- Upload patient data. Upload genetic data, including whole exome sequencing (WES) and whole genome sequencing (WGS) files, directly from your computer. Uploaded data for each individual is automatically combined into a single Genome profile. See how to upload genetic data.
- Identify and manage each patient. After upload, rename the Genome profile with a patient ID or name so each patient's genetic data is easy to manage and identify.
What free services are available?
Providers can use a range of free services for each patient whose data is stored on their account, including the Next Gen Disease Screen Free, Genome Explorer Free, and other free reports.
How do advanced analysis and subscriptions work?
Additional analysis and subscription services can be purchased on a patient by patient basis. Providers manage these services individually for each patient, so spending stays tied to the patients who need each report.
Can I create a custom Whole Genome Sequencing bundle?
Yes. Healthcare providers can create their own WGS bundle, which can include the provider's or institution's name. To set this up or discuss the options, contact Sequencing support.
How does Sequencing handle compliance and data security?
Sequencing is HIPAA compliant and enters into HIPAA Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with healthcare providers. For details, see HIPAA compliance and certifications.
