Genetic Reports
Genetic Reports
Genetic reports turn a patient's DNA into clear, actionable information you can use in clinical care. At Sequencing, many of the reports and apps in the Partner Marketplace analyze genetic data and generate a report written to be easy to understand and to act on, for both you and your patient. Each report draws on the patient's underlying genetic data, which can cover 100% of their DNA and over 30,000 genes.
What is a genetic report?
A genetic report is the output of an analysis that reads specific parts of a patient's genetic data and summarizes what it means. Rather than handing you raw variant files, the report organizes findings into plain language, so the clinical relevance is clear at a glance. Reports are designed to be actionable, meaning they support a decision or a conversation rather than leaving you to interpret raw data alone.
How do genetic reports support clinical care?
Reports give you and your patient a shared, readable reference point. In practice that means:
- Faster interpretation. Findings are summarized in clinical language, so you spend less time parsing raw data.
- Better patient conversations. A patient facing version explains the same findings in accessible terms, which supports informed discussion and shared decisions.
- Actionable framing. Reports are built to connect a genetic finding to a next step, whether that is monitoring, referral, or further testing.
Are there separate reports for clinicians and patients?
Yes. Sequencing provides a version written for healthcare professionals and a version tailored for patients, so each audience sees the same findings at the right level of detail. You can preview both before you use them with a patient:
How are genetic reports generated?
Reports are produced by the apps and reports you select in the Partner Marketplace. Each one analyzes the patient's stored genetic data and returns a report on its specific topic. Because the same genetic data can be analyzed by many different reports, a single genome can support a wide range of clinical questions over time without recollecting a sample.
How is patient data protected?
Patient genetic data is sensitive, and Sequencing treats it accordingly. The platform is built to support HIPAA compliant workflows, and a Business Associate Agreement is available for healthcare professionals.
