Do you have raw DNA data from a genetic testing service like AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA, or 23andMe? If so, there is a lot more you can do with it. Beyond learning about your heritage, you can use that same data to get a free DNA health analysis online with Sequencing.
About Sequencing
Sequencing offers advanced DNA testing and whole genome sequencing, along with the Partner Marketplace, where apps turn your genetic data into useful insights and guidance for your health. If you have already taken a DNA test from a genetic genealogy company, you can use that data with a wide range of apps focused on health and wellness.
If you are wondering how to get a free DNA health analysis, read on to learn about several free health apps available at Sequencing.
About the Partner Marketplace
The Partner Marketplace is a digital marketplace of free and paid apps that interpret genetic data. Apps span categories including health, ancestry, and nutrition, and they accept raw data from the leading consumer genetic tests as well as clinical laboratories.
How do I start?
To get started, upload your data through the Upload Center. Select your file from your computer and upload it. If you do not yet have a file, see the option below.
Have not taken a DNA test yet?
If you have not yet taken a genetic test, you can get your data through Sequencing's whole genome sequencing service. It provides clinical grade 30x sequencing and reads 100% of your genome, including all of your over 30,000 genes and all of your chromosomes. Whole genome sequencing captures far more data than a genotyping test, which reads only a small fraction of your DNA. Along with your full genome sequence, you also receive health reports to help you make sense of the data.
Concerned about the privacy of your DNA?
So are we. Our Privacy First policy is a straightforward pledge: when you upload and store your DNA data with Sequencing, or take one of our DNA tests, we protect it and keep it secure.
We do not sell or share your data, including your DNA data, with anyone. No loopholes and no fine print. We are also not owned, even in part, by pharmaceutical companies, insurers, law enforcement, governments, or large tech companies. Our only allegiance is to you.
Privacy has been central to Sequencing from the start. The company was founded by Dr. Brandon Colby, MD, a physician specializing in genetics and the author of Outsmart Your Genes. Dr. Colby believes you own your DNA, and built Sequencing around keeping it safe while helping you understand what it can tell you about your health.
Free DNA apps and health reports
Once your raw DNA data is uploaded, or you have used one of our DNA test kits, you can run any app in the Partner Marketplace on your data. If you are not sure where to begin, here are two free apps to start with.
Genome Explorer
Genome Explorer is a free app and a good starting point. It lets you view and search your gene variants, and explore the associations between your genetic data and various diseases, conditions, traits, and medication responses.
Athletic Performance
Research has explored whether matching training to a person's genetics can improve results. A 2016 study in Biology of Sport, titled "A genetic based algorithm for personalized resistance training," reported that athletes following DNA matched training improved more than those on mismatched programs. The free Athletic Performance app builds on that idea, offering personalized, easy to understand guidance for optimizing your workouts and physical fitness in a concise, nontechnical report.
These are just starting points. You can browse the full set of free and paid apps any time in the Partner Marketplace.
