2026 Update: 23andMe filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March 2025. Its assets were subsequently acquired by TTAM Research Institute, a nonprofit organization founded by Anne Wojcicki, in July 2025. Current 23andMe customers can still access and download their data. The steps below reflect the download process as it has been available on the platform. How to Download Your Raw DNA Data from 23andMe

1. Log in to your 23andMe account at 23andme.com.
2. Click on your name or profile icon in the top navigation to open your account menu.
3. Select Browse Raw Data from the menu.
4. Click the Download link to request your raw DNA data file.
5. 23andMe will send you an email when your file is ready. Click the link in the email to download a zip file containing your raw DNA data.

The download process is typically quick. Once you have the zip file saved to your computer, you are ready to upload it to Sequencing.

How to Upload Your 23andMe Data to Sequencing

1. Go to the Sequencing Upload Center.
2. Click Choose File and select the zip file you downloaded from 23andMe.
3. The file will upload and process automatically. Processing typically completes within a few minutes, though it may occasionally take longer depending on server load.
4. Once processing is complete, your DNA data will appear in your Sequencing account under My Files.
