Apps for Raw DNA Data Interpretation
Sequencing.com is an online platform that helps people turn their genetic data into usable insights that can improve health outcomes. Sequencing.com does this by providing access to genetic applications in a DNA app store for DNA raw data interpretation.
About Our DNA App Store
The Sequencing.com DNA App Store is a digital marketplace offering free and paid software applications (‘apps’) that interpret genetic data.
There are nine categories of apps including health, ancestry, nutrition, fitness, beauty, lifestyle, children, bioinformatics, and clothing.
All of the apps accept raw data from the leading consumer genetic tests as well as clinical laboratories.
What is Raw DNA Data Interpretation?
DNA raw data Interpretation is the act of analyzing and interpreting genetic information that has been digitized as computer data. This computer data is then analyzed with DNA apps.
The apps review your genetic information, compare the findings to scientific data and provide reports. The reports can tell you meaningful information about you and your family, such as your family’s heritage and certain genetic conditions you or your loved ones may be predisposed to.
How Do I Start?
To start, you need to upload or import your data. Using the custom importers we’ve built is the easiest option. You can find those on the right side of the screen for most major testing providers. If you don’t see your testing provider, you can also upload the raw DNA data directly from that page. From there, it’s time to get started with the apps!
Examples of DNA Apps
The Sequencing.com App Store contains a wide assortment of apps that enable you to analyze your DNA and obtain truly meaningful, personalized guidance for health, wellness, genealogy and more. We discuss four of the apps below and you can always browse and search through all the apps by visiting our App Store.
Data Viewer
While it is true you can use any app in our app store for raw DNA data interpretation; we suggest starting with Data Viewer, which is a free app that can begin to show you how DNA is interrupted.
With this app, you will be able to see all gene variants, and if you wish, you can upgrade to explore the association between your genetic data and diseases, conditions, traits and medication reactions.
Genetic Counseling
Starting with Data Viewer is a great place, however, some people can be confused by the in-depth results. If you fall into that category, the best thing to do is make use of the Genetic Counseling app.
This app, which is made by DNAVisit, connects you to a genetic counselor to chat about your DNA results. Once uploaded, the data is compared against databases of science research and artificial intelligence (AI) is utilized to understand the data.
If that does not sound amazing enough, the best part is you will get to chat with a trained professional who can answer all of your DNA questions as you try to learn how to interpret the data.
Wellness and Longevity
The Wellness and Longevity app is a great place to go next. This app will interpret your data and provide you with a straightforward, actionable report you can use to protect and optimize your health.
It does not look at all of the gene variants like Data Viewer, but what you give up in breadth you get back in ease of use. Specifically, it looks at your athletic performance and offers a medication assessment.
This all-in-one app also looks at your propensity for hair loss & baldness, developing melanoma, having arthritis, and suffering from a heart attack or sudden preventable death from arrhythmia.

Healthcare Pro
If you are looking to dive a bit deeper into health interpretation, the Healthcare Pro app is the place to start. This app is much more clinical and is best suited for people who have more experience interpreting daw DNA results as well as healthcare background.
While the Healthcare Pro app and Wellness and Longevity app provide similar analysis, there are two main distinctions:
- The Healthcare Pro app is designed for use by healthcare professionals while the Wellness and Longevity app is for everyone else.
- For example, if you are a physician, nurse or genetic counselor than the Healthcare Pro report will speak your language. But if you’re not in the healthcare field, the Wellness and Longevity app is the app to go with.
- Only the Healthcare Pro app includes an extensive genetic analysis of rare diseases, conditions and traits. The same rare disease analysis is also available on its own, aptly named the Rare Disease Screen app.
If you are interested, you can check out a sample Healthcare Pro report here.
In addition to the genetic report and a rare disease analysis, the Healthcare Pro app results include detailed information about the specific genes and genetic variants analyzed as well as the medical references that link the variant to a specific disease, medication reaction or trait.
In this way, Healthcare Pro is similar to Data Viewer, so again, if you get confused, make use of a genetic counselor - your health is worth it!
