Yes! Our wide-range of DNA analysis apps and reports can be used with almost all DNA tests and genome sequencing services.

For example, you can upload and use your DNA from 23andMe, Ancestry.com, MyHeritage, FamilyTreeDNA, Dante Labs, Nebula Genomics and almost all other test providers.

The Ultimate DNA Test is a genotyping test that uses an advanced DNA microarray to obtain data on almost 30 million variants within your genome. This represents around 1% of your genome.

For comparison, 23andMe, Ancestry and most DNA tests obtain data on less than 0.1% of your genome.

The Ultimate DNA Test is the ‘ultimate’ test because it is not only lower in price but also provides far more data than other DNA tests. You’ll be able to discover tremendous insights about yourself using this test including for health, ancestry, nutrition, fitness, beauty and more. This test, however, only provides limited ability to screen for rare diseases.

Our Whole Genome Sequencing service is the most powerful and greatest genetic test available. It obtains data on 100% of your genome, which is more than 3 billion variants!

If you want the best, it’s our Whole Genome Sequencing Service. The analysis it provides is limitless such as comprehensive assessment for health, medication reactions, rare diseases (including carrier screening for more than 5,000 diseases and conditions), nutrition, fitness, beauty, data exploration and much more. And yes, it also provides a wide range of genealogical insights about your ancestry and heritage.

The data from our Whole Genome Sequencing service is forward compatible. This means that you only need to be sequenced one time. If a new gene is discovered, you won’t need to take another DNA test. Instead, all that is necessary to obtain information about that newly discovered gene is to re-analyze your genome data.

After your test has completed, our wide selection of DNA apps and reports will analyze and transform your DNA data into personalized insights and guidance. You’re in full control because you select which reports you want.

If you’re interested in personalized health, our Health category contains dozens of reports for you to select. For example, Wellness and Longevity, which provides an excellent assessment of genetic risk factors as well as the Rare Disease Screen, which analyzes more than 5,000 rare diseases, conditions and traits.

If you’re more interested in ancestry and data exploration, our Ancestry and Bioinformatics categories also contain dozens of DNA analysis apps and reports. Obtains data on 3 billion chromosomal coordinates including all autosomes (chromosomes 1-22) as well as the X, Y (males only) and MT chromosomes.

Since diploid data is provided, the total amount of data obtained is on approximately 6 billion chromosomal coordinates.

Yes! Your Sequencing.com account allows you to access, use and download your raw data and your reports at any time.

Yes! You can permanently delete any file in your account at any time and for any reason. To delete a file, sign into your account, identify the file you want to delete and select the ‘Delete’ option.

When you delete a file, it is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Our Whole Genome Sequencing service includes 150 bp paired-end read 30x whole genome sequencing performed using next-generation MGI DNBSEQ-T7 genome sequencers.

Raw sequencing data is analyzed using our own specialized bioinformatics pipeline. Under the hood are hyper-optimized versions of BWA-MEM2 and SamTools integrated with proprietary software.

Data is aligned to reference genome GRCh38.p13 + rCRS.

Since 2015, Sequencing.com has been building bioinformatics platforms and analysis services for genome sequencing laboratories throughout the world.

These pipelines have used a diverse range of aligners and callers from the obscure to those that are more mainstream, such as DRAGEN, GATK and iSAAC.

We used our years of experience developing genome analysis pipelines for others to build our own pipeline for our Ultimate Genome Sequencing service.

While others may optimize their pipelines for speed, we optimized our pipeline for data quality. So while it may take longer (8 hours to process a single genome), the data quality generated by our pipeline is exceptional.

Yes! Our Ultimate DNA Test and our Whole Genome Sequencing service include full access to your raw DNA data files so that you can easily access and use your data with other services.

Whenever you order genetic testing through us, you own the data. You can download your DNA data at any time and, if you choose, upload your data to third-party sites, such as those that provide genetic genealogy and family tree services.

Due to the enormous amount of DNA data provided by both of our tests, some third-party systems may be overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude data and may have issues processing the data file. Because of this, we’ve developed a unique universally compatible DNA data file in txt format that’s included as part of your genetic test results.

This special universally compatible file is called the ‘Ultimate Compatibility File'. We designed this file to be compatible with third-party DNA analysis and ancestry services including openSNP, WikiTree, GEDmatch and Promethease. You’ll be able to upload and use your Ultimate Compatibility File with third-party sites that also accept uploads of DNA data from 23andMe.

An Ultimate Compatibility File containing your raw DNA data is included with both our Ultimate DNA Test and our Ultimate Genome Sequencing service.

Additional information

Genome sequencing technology, including the 30x whole genome sequencing that’s part of our Whole Genome Sequencing service, generates data files in bam and fastq formats. Since these files provide your full genome, they are massive in size. Each file is usually more than 35 GB in size!

Most third-party genetic genealogy sites cannot process these large files, which is why our genome sequencing test includes this special Ultimate Compatibility File in txt format in addition to the fastq, bam, and vcf formats we also provide.

So while full genomes may otherwise be incompatible with third-party sites, our DNA testing and genome sequencing services provide you with a special file designed specifically to be compatible with third-party sites.

Optimized for both universal compatibility and data analysis

The Ultimate Compatibility File contains a subset of the total data because the total data obtained from both of our tests is too large for most third-party sites to process. This subset of DNA data is larger than the amount of data provided by 23andMe, Ancestry, and other test providers while still ensuring the file is not too large. The subset of data included in the Ultimate Compatibility File was selected to ensure third-party genetic genealogy sites will have all of the data they need to provide their services.

For example, many third-party sites cannot process files that contain more than 1 million rows of data or that are larger than 100 MB in size. Our Ultimate DNA Test obtains around 30 million rows of data and is almost 1.5 GB in size while our Whole Genome Sequencing service obtains around 3 billion rows of data and is more than 35 GB in size! The subset of data included in the Ultimate Compatibility File has been specifically optimized to ensure it can be uploaded to, and processed by, third-party sites but also to ensure the subset of data enables comprehensive, accurate analysis by third-party genetic genealogy sites.

You can cancel your Membership at any time and for any reason without incurring any fee or penalty.

If you cancel your Membership, your account will automatically convert to the Free plan. You'll still have full access to all of your raw data files from your Ultimate DNA Test and your Ultimate Genome Sequencing service.

All of your raw DNA data and DNA reports will always be safely stored in your Sequencing.com account. You’ll be able to access and download your data and reports for free, and at any time, regardless of whether your account has a paid Membership or is on the Free plan.

Silver Membership is $11.99 per month ($9.99 if paid annually) and provides the ability to select and use two DNA analysis apps and reports each month. View additional information about Membership Plans.

The type of testing technology used by 23andMe, Ancestry.com and similar companies test less than 0.1% of your genome. Their tests, which are called genotyping microarray tests, do not sequence your genes and do not test your whole genome.

Only a special type of genetic testing called DNA sequencing has the ability to test your entire genome. Our Whole Genome Sequencing service, which includes clinical-grade whole genome sequencing, tests 100% of your genome.
